Summary
A System Network Administrator is responsible for the smooth operation and security of Planned Companies’ computer network infrastructure. This includes both the hardware (like servers, routers, switches, and cables) and software (such as operating systems, network monitoring tools, and security applications) that make up the network environment. This role is a great fit for a proactive System/Network Administrator who enjoys a mix of operational support and project-based improvements, with an emphasis on network reliability and security.
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:30AM-5:00PM
Primary Job Responsibilities
- Network administration, system administration, security monitoring, support and troubleshooting, and IT infrastructure and improvement.
- Monitor and troubleshoot network performance issues to ensure uptime and reliability.
- Manage user access, VPN configurations, and network segmentation for enhanced security.
- Manage Microsoft 365 environments, including email, collaboration tools, and security features.
- Maintain on-premises and cloud-based server environments (AWS, Microsoft Azure).
- Perform patch management, system updates, and routine maintenance.
- Monitor system logs (firewall, network traffic, endpoint security tools) to identify and address anomalies.
- Support threat detection and incident response activities.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and apply updates or mitigations to address security gaps.
- Provide Tier 2/3 support for escalated network and system issues.
- Collaborate with cross-functional IT teams to resolve technical challenges.
- Document processes, network configurations, and troubleshooting steps for knowledge sharing.
- Recommend and implement improvements for network stability, scalability, and performance.
- Support automation initiatives to streamline administrative tasks and increase efficiency.

- Microsoft 365 – Comprehensive productivity suite with advanced security features.
- TitanHQ – Cloud-based email security and web filtering.
- WatchGuard – Network security, multi-factor authentication, and endpoint security solutions.
- AWS – Amazon Web Services cloud infrastructure, security, and monitoring.
Requirements
- Proficiency in configuring and maintaining network devices (routers, switches, wireless).
- Experience with system monitoring tools, SIEM, and basic incident response processes.
- Strong understanding of Windows environments and Active Directory management.
- Familiarity with encryption protocols (TLS 1.3) and network security principles.
Experience
- 3-5 years in system and network administration or related roles.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field; certifications like CCNA, CompTIA Network+, or Microsoft Azure Fundamentals preferred.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with cloud migrations or hybrid IT environments.
- Basic scripting skills (e.g., PowerShell, Python) for task automation.
- Ability to conduct user training and create technical documentation.
